Y.E.L.L Program Participation Waiver and Agreement
I, the undersigned parent/guardian, give permission for my child to participate in the Youth English Linguistics Learning (Y.E.L.L) program.
I understand that participation in this program involves educational activities, and while reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure a safe environment, there may be inherent risks of minor injury. I agree that I will not hold the program organizer, instructor, or any affiliated parties responsible for accidental injuries that may occur during participation, including any injuries caused by other participants, except in cases of gross negligence.
I acknowledge that this is a free, student-led educational program.
I understand that the curriculum may include a wide range of topics related to language, linguistics, and communication. These topics may include discussions, examples, or perspectives that differ from personal beliefs or opinions. By allowing my child to participate, I accept that exposure to diverse ideas is part of the educational experience.
Media Release / Photography Permission: I grant permission for the program organizer to take photographs and/or videos of my child during Y.E.L.L program sessions. I understand that these images may be used for educational, promotional, or informational purposes, including posting on the Y.E.L.L website or related materials. No personal identifying information (such as full name, address, or contact information) will be shared without additional consent.
Behavior Expectations: Students are expected to behave respectfully, follow program rules, and participate to the best of their ability. The instructor reserves the right to remove any student whose behavior disrupts the program or creates safety concerns.
I understand that the instructor reserves the right to refuse participation to any student if, in their judgment, it is necessary for safety or program management.
Respect for Space / Property Responsibility: Students are expected to treat the building that classes partake in, all materials, and shared spaces with respect at all times. This includes proper use of furniture and equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and following all rules provided for the space.
I understand that any damage caused by my child to the building, property, or equipment during program activities is the responsibility of the parent/guardian. If damage occurs due to misuse or negligence, I agree that I may be required to cover the cost of repair or replacement.
Y.E.L.L and its organizers are not liable for damage to personal belongings or misuse of the space during participation in the program.
I agree to provide an emergency contact for my child in case of illness or injury.
I understand that parents/guardians are responsible for picking up their child promptly at the end of class. The instructor will wait up to 10 minutes after class ends; after that time, the parent/guardian assumes full responsibility for their child.
